Benefits of Meditation

Meditation centers the mind to tune into the present, being mindfully aware of the moment you are experiencing. A wealth of studies support how meditation produces positive neurobiological and neurophysiological effects including brain expansions, balancing neurotransmitters, and stabilizing mood– all of which correspond with a calmer brain. Meditation improves self-awareness, intuition, compassion, communication skills, concentration, attention, mental flexibility, emotional balance, fear regulation, and physiology.


Nicole's Philosophy

Nicole leads a new generation of meditation teachers fusing neuroscience with the ancient art of meditation. Her training encompasses Bön, Dzogchen, Insight, and contemplative Buddhist lineages along with mindfulness and social meditation. She completed a two-year MMTCP program with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach through UC Berkeley Greater Good Science and Sounds True. Her grounded understanding in neuroscience enables her to design practices to guide one’s mind to positive mind states and adaptive behaviors, while strengthening positive neural plasticity and mental states. She dedicates her practice and teachings for the benefit of all beings.


Caltech COVID Care and

Beyond the Cell Guided Meditation

Nicole A. Tetreault, PhD is a member of the Caltech alumni and recipient of the Milton and Rosalind Chang Career Exploration Prize. She founded the novel non-profit Beyond the Cell, a transformative program to rehabilitate incarcerated women through teaching guided meditation, neuroscience, literature and expressive writing. She developed guided meditations to face our turbulent times with COVID-19. Nicole offers resources and meditations to the Caltech community to help balance the nervous system to restore safety and peace of mind.

Everyday Mindfulness

My workshop, Everyday Mindfulness, is a half-day seminar that focuses on the neuroscience of meditation and mindfulness.  Attendees learn basic mindfulness techniques that can be used in everyday life including mindfulness meditations, breathing exercises and compassion practices.

My workshop, EMPOWER, is a half-day seminar that has been developed for middle school and high school students and adults.  Empower, Envision, Elevate includes meditation, writing, sharing, and discovery of personal voice in a compassionate environment. Attendees manifest their personal voice and develop an understanding of their essence to live the life they imagine.
